I have the honour to acknowledge receipt of your secret despatch of the 27th December, 1946, concerning the Protected Places (Safety) Ordinance, 1946 and to inform you that I note with satisfaction that you agree that this Ordinance should be repealed as soon as the situation which it is designed to meet has improved sufficiently to permit such a course. I shall look forward to receiving a report on the review of the necessity for the continuance of this measure, which is to take place at the beginning of
